Course Objectives
- To provide a practical
but rigorous background in mathematical modeling and statistics
- To provide a working
knowledge of the major methods used to estimate parameters and test
hypotheses about fish and wildlife populations
- To apply the above
principles and knowledge to solving practical decision problems in
modern fish and wildlife and conservation management
Use of Electronic
Devices
Cell phones, laptop computers, PDAs and other electronic devices are
unnecessary and distracting and their use is not permitted in either lecture
or lab. Please keep these devices off or silent. Those not respecting this
policy will be asked to leave the classroom.
Computer Lab
Computers in the teaching lab are solely for use in conducting classroom
exercises during class time. Please refrain from checking email, surfing the
web or other activities not directly related to class. Food and drink except
bottled water are prohibited in the computer lab at all times. Failure to
follow these policies may result in loss of computer lab privileges.
