Week 2:  The SAS environment, libraries, importing, and exporting

Save example datasets species.xls, streamflow.xls and climate.xls (in Excel 2000) to a disk or on your hard drive.

To create a library, click on the file cabinet with the blue star.....

...then type in the name of the library "easy" and locate the folder you want to contain your SAS library...

Hint: To import the excel files, click on file then select datafile to import. You should see the following menu.  You will be importing an excel 2000 spreadsheet so click next.

Using the pull down menu on the left, select the "easy" library and type in the name of the SAS datafile "species".

Repeat the above steps and import the climate data. Now we're ready to proceed.
